After Feeding the 5000, Defra Minister Hilary Benn wrote letters to all supermarkat CEOs telling them that instead of wasting good surplus food, they should give it to redistribution charity, FareShare. Benn also wrote ‘a lovely letter’ to FareShare – which is more notice than they've had from govt before.
